Fourth grade is a fun year! One of the highlights is studying about our home state of Wisconsin. We study state symbols, the land, Native Americans, lumberjacks, and dairy cows. We take a field trip each spring to the historic Surgeon's Quarters and Indian Agency House in Portage. We have even taken a trip to Devil's Lake State Park to view the effigy mounds made by the Native Americans.?
In 4th grade, we also begin to learn Spanish. We learn days of the week, months, time, greetings, numbers, and family names. It's fun to learn another language. We can also join the choir that sings at our school masses each week. The choir has been invited to go to plays and shows in Chicago!
